Breaks and the 48-hour week
Workers aged 18 or over are generally entitled to an uninterrupted 20-minute rest break when a shift exceeds six hours, 11 hours' rest between shifts, and a day off each week. Average weekly working time is capped at 48 hours unless the worker has opted out in writing.
